COURSE OVERVIEW

Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing  or  Typing Instructor are good programs for the whole family.

COURSE NOTES

Keyboarding Skill:  Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing  or  Typing Instructor  or  Type-It  programs are recommended, for one or more quarters, in any school year.  Any of these programs are available from Rainbow Resource or Amazon.com.  Using a combination of formal instruction and game-playing, these programs work for any student that can read at a fourth grade level or above.  Learning to type helps support the student with poor penmanship habits, and the student with tracking and spelling weaknesses.  Keyboard skills are a must for college and in most work places, too.

Twenty minutes per day, four to five days weekly, is recommended.  Include speed and accuracy statistics in your quarterly reporting.

Note: Do not purchase "For Kids" versions except for your very young students to play with.

Credit Information for Students in Grades 9 - 12: Credits awarded according to hours reported; 37.5 hours = 2.5cr; 75 hours = 5.0cr; max. 2.5cr per quarter; max. 2.5cr per work sample.

Scheduling Suggestions: 20min/day
